Will the portrait actually look like the person?
From a written description alone, you get a stylized portrait that matches the details you give, age, hair, glasses, clothing, but not an exact likeness of a specific face. For a true likeness, attach a reference photo (available on free accounts), which routes your generation to an image-to-image model that works from the photo directly.
Is it free to use?
Yes. New accounts start with 15 free credits, no card required, and free credits refill daily when you run low. A portrait from a written description costs 1 credit on the draft model; attaching a reference photo routes to the standard image-to-image model at 2 credits per portrait, also available on free accounts.
What size can I print the portrait?
The default 4:5 aspect ratio matches a standard 8×10 frame. Generations are around one megapixel, and an 8×10 print at the 300 DPI print standard needs 2400×3000 pixels, so run the image through the built-in upscaler (2× or 4×, on the upscale tool page) before printing larger than roughly 4×5 inches. For canvas prints, which are viewed from further away, the tolerance is looser.
Can I sell portraits made with this generator?
Yes, on a paid plan: commercial usage rights, including selling custom portrait listings on Etsy, come with paid plans, subject to the model provider's usage policy. Free-tier portraits are for personal and evaluation use, which covers gifts you aren't selling. If a customer sends you their photo to work from, that permission is between you and them; avoid generating portraits of public figures or from photos you don't have rights to use.
